Introducing the idea that people are real.
Reorganizing
Blogcamp.com has been put into place but information concerning this hasn't been completed. That's what
happens when you mix the love of ideas with the reality of work.
If you are interested please
contact me
and I will discuss things with you then.
Awhile back I came up with an idea of getting a bunch of webloggers together. This idea started from my server log files.
I would check them every once in awhile and some of those times I would notice people coming from a certain site on the web.
I would visit that site and then email the person in charge to just say, "Thanks for the refferals :-)".
Here's where it all came together
These people would email me back and some would even pop up on AIM to say a simple - "You're Welcome". This little act
of acknowledgement was huge and it gave me such a great feeling to have connected with a stranger.
This connection got me to imagine a much broader connection. Something that would bring people together in a way one another
could see real people and not just HyperText.
I emailed various people and Derek
Powazek responded first.
He told me that Cam (from camworld.com)
was already talking about bringing people togther in very much the same way - but back in October.
I was pissed at first because someone else was already starting my idea, but after awhile I realized that I would have had to
gather people together anyways or taken care of alot of things myself.
It would be great to simply join these people and just help them in whatever I could do.
I ended up talking with Cam and had a good conversation about each others
ideas and goals. He told me about some of the other people working on this project and
was excited to let me onto the team of people that would get this baby started.
I don't want to say to much right now, but I will say is that I'm excited and be on
the look out for something big - REALLY BIG :-)
