Selling it as your own

What’s always interesting to me is when you hear someone showing off computer features or web-app features (of products they are using) to someone less computer savvy. They will make it sound as if they are the ones that developed the software and are selling the value of the development overtop what the listener may be using.

Right now I’m at JP’s Coffee and listening to someone WOW a friend on Dashboard widgets on his Apple computer. The person is displaying how easy it is, all the different types of things he’s able to track with his widgets and basically showing how awesome he his that he’s able to do all of this with just a click of a button.

There’s nothing wrong with this and we’ve all done it to some extent with a less computer savvy relative but it’s just funny to hear. Especially when they are showing someone with their fast talking salesman voice.

Another good one is the two-finger scrolling. I’ve had some one use that one on me before when I asked what they liked about their MacBook.
