Letters of James

William Barclay is a guy that dedicated his life to making the bible understandable for the average reader. He’s written an impressive collection of books but what’s really interesting is how he wrote them and how well he did.

When Barclay was ready to write, he just sat down and wrote all of his thoughts out on the subject. He never reviewed, wordsmithed or had someone proof his work, he just wrote everything out as if it were pouring out of his mind and bundled up his papers and sent them to a publisher.

I’ve read his commentary on the books of John and just bought his outline of James. The interesting thing about the Book of James is it’s one of the books which had a very hard fight to get into the New Testament. I don’t know much about it but excited for my book to come in the mail.
