Get out while you can

Living and working in one area for to long can get really boring and stiffen the creative perspective on the world around you. So when there’s a chance to leave, it’s important you take the change in your day and experience something different.

For me, it was a meeting in Chicago to kick-off a project with a new client. Going up on Wednesday morning for meetings that day and finishing the remaining meetings on Thursday, I had the team drop me off in the heart of Chicago on our way home.

I didn’t have a place to stay or any plans but was excited to remove myself from my everyday practice. After about an hour or so of walking around Michigan Avenue and being told that every hotel had no available rooms due to some plastic conference in the area, I finally ended up at the Four Point Shariton hotel, which is about a block off of Michigan Ave and 2 blocks from the Apple store.

Anyways - the stay so far has been a great break.
