Portfolio on Flickr

Flickr plus portfolio equals easy setup

Don’t have a lot of time to really put together a portfolio of all your work? Having various people ask you what you’re working on or what kind of stuff you’ve done or been a part of?

Do like everyone else and skip the time it takes to put together your own site about yourself and your offerings. Upload everything to Flickr, create a photo set and call it a day. Not only is it a great way to see all the work you’ve done but it saves an amazing amount of time and headache.

Take a peek at some of my stuff and the projects that I’ve worked on.

That is a pretty good idea. What’s missing is the url to visit the sites, and the corresponding increase in page rank and traffic for the site, which is not always desirable.

It is a good idea, and I like how it gives a visual of what has been accomplished. You could probably tweak the Flickr API to create a little module for personal use on your site, which could include a URL and picture of the site.

But then again, as Bill said, increase in page rank and traffic might not always be desirable.

Yea - I still have to go through them and add the URL’s. One step at a time (although it won’t take that long).

As for the Flickr API, yea, we’ve done that for a few projects. For example, the whole jpscoffee.com/photos/ section was done using the Flickr API.
