It’s a little past one o’clock in the morning and I’m still reading books and playing around on my computer. Jodi and Jessica are in bed, sleeping beautifully, while I’ve been waiting for over a half-an-hour for a sleeping pill to drop me into my pillow case.
I’m extremely tired and all I can think about is - “When will be be time to wake up, because I have things to do?”.
So is there anything special you do to get to sleep?

I’ve recently been asked to speak in Chicago at the next Gospelcom Conference to all their alliance members and development community. I was privileged to attend last years event and sit in on some great workshops. This year, however, I get to join those speakers and share with others a few things I’ve learned over the years.
As it stands right now I’ll be speaking on the following subjects:
- Web Accessibility: Developing information for further reach
- Web Workflow: How to plan and execute a successful website
Along with speaking at these workshops - I’ll also be a part of the Contractors Fair where ministries can sign up for a FREE 30-minute session with the contractor of their choice, who will review their site (if necessary or requested) and can make suggestions.
So I’m pretty excited about doing this but in the same token, pretty nervous. I love talking with people but when large groups of them gather today and look to me for guidance, I get unsure of my ability and question if I’m really the right guy to be standing in the front.
The best advise advice I received for getting over my anxiety was from a buddy at work when he said;
“My father once told me, ‘If you ever get the chance to speak do it. You’ll only get better if you do more of it’”.
So with that, I’ll be speaking at the next Gospelcom conference along side people like Jeff Veen, Steve Mulder, the Zend guys and many others.
