A few new site Launches

Things have been incredibly busy on my end and posting to my site has been close to the last thing on my mind. That said, I thought I would show you all a few sites I’ve been working on and have recently launched.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University - This is my personal favorite with how well it went together. Everything about it was extremely thought through from architecture and user experience to the homepage audiences and the online application process.

WhiteHat Management - Taking the content directly from the homepage is the best way to describe what this company does - “Think of us as an engine that runs on new ideas.”. They’re an extremely fast moving company with some large ideas and new companies coming out of those ideas.

City of Holland - If you’re a local Hollander you’ve probably found yourself frustrated while trying to find some information about Holland on the city site. This is no longer an issue (for the most part). The new site is completely rethought and restructured from the ground up. More improvements are to come but it’s a great move forward for the city and the people that live in it.

So those are a few sites that have been launched this past month and another handful will be coming up here soon. I’m hoping that things will die down a bit over the next few months so I can begin working on Elevator UP 2. That’s a whole other discussion though.

So what do you think of the sites?

Daniel Morrison Says:

Looking good. The Holland one is much needed; I was tired of navigating the old one.

What CMS are you using on that?

Aaron Schaap Says:

It’s a system origionally developed by the Image Group and broke off into its own company. Developed in Java using Velocity templating.

I get a blank when I go to the Holland site using FF 1.0.4. I looked at the code and it looks like it’s using a meta refresh to take me into the Brix system, but it’s not going.

I really hate 0 time meta refreshes, could you maybe use a header forward to send it on?

Aaron Says:

Hmm - Tested on my end and it works fine. On top of that, we don’t have a meta-refresh in our code at all. Can you check to see if it’s anything on your end?

Topher Says:

I checked it on another machine, and the meta refresh pushes it through. It’s still there though.

“Your comment was denied for questionable content”

That’s what I get when I try and enter my URL.

Anyway, the sites look great.

Looks like you are working with Gospelcom and/or Morin. Hows that going? We just converted. CWC’s site.

Aaron Says:

yea - I’ve been working quite a bit with Gospelcom. In fact, we’re working closely with them to develop new modules. One we recently release was the CSS calendar, it should be something you can get now and offer more flexability in design control.

We’re also doing quite a bit of training to people on the CWS system and are working with them to create a CWS hack’s site that shows people using the system how to do things they normally couldn’t do.

On the City website, we used Morin’s system.
