Gmail Invitations

Just a quick note - I currently have about six gmail accounts and was wondering if anyone wanted one. If this is something you’ve been trying to get or are simply curious on what gmail is all about, please post a comment with your Full Name, valid email address, what you like or don’t like about this website, and why you want a gmail account.

Your post doesn’t have to be anything large. Just give me the basics and I’ll send you an invitation right away.

Doesnt’ gmail scan and save your email ? Isn’t that a privacy issue ? Just out of curiousity I wondered if you knew .

Well, this was an issue for quite a while but has passed over recently. To be honest I didn’t follow it much more than watching the headlines but it’s nothing to worry about.

It does and does not - scan your email. Yes in the sense that a computer algorithm will show relevant ads based on the words in your email and NO in the sense that anything more is taken out of that other than the data showing people talk quite a bit about this particular thing. It doesn’t narrow down and say “Dan Fris is talking about these things.” - being a publicly traded company - they’ve got people watching these type of things.

On the Gmail note - does it save your email? No more than Hotmail, Yahoo, or any other company out there. What’s amazing about Gmail is that you have the space to save all your mail and pull it up, reference it to other documents, etc… It’s amazing how much of a desktop style program it is being on the web.

So to close it up - I’m not at all worried about it nor do I think anyone else should be. If you’re really concerned - do a couple searches for all the discussions that went on about it a few months ago.
