The Press is catching on
When people like me start telling others to stop using IE, it sometimes goes by the waist-side. They’ll continue using it until it they realize the problems it really is causeing.
But - when the media starts picking up on it. People slowly begin to think. They start to see that this information is public and that it’s ok to not use Internet Explorer (IE) and, in fact, recommended.
I love it when this happens and I can begin to slowly rub it in certain people’s faces.
Update
For those of you wanting to read the article - it’s entitled “Hot tip in Microsoft mag: drop the lost Explorer. They may ask you to register - simply select the small option on the bottom that says something like “Register at a later time”.

After spending hours upon hours of cleaning spyware, adware, scumware, & the like from friends’ machines repetedly, I am now adding the step of installing Firefox and setting it as the default browser on these machines, as most of the ‘my search’, cool web search’ and other crapo out there is written to exploit IE, the most used browser (of course). The result, trouble-free browsing for them, and no more digging around in the registry removing crap that comes back, reboot after reboot for me. Nice browser, and not that bad of a transition for the user either :-)
