SPAM Research
I’ve just started to heavily research the issue of SPAM due to the recent get togethers started up by Elevator Up L.L.C. a couple months ago. This week we’re going to dive into the issue of SPAM filtering with hopes to educate various people in the West Michigan area on good practices.
The major research pieces have to do with Yahoo!’s DomainKey solution and Microsoft’s not so cleverly named Spam Caller ID.
As well as keeping up-to-date with these two developments I’m also working on understanding good SPAM filtering solutions from a server side. Tools like SpamAssassin, qpsmtpd and others.
I’m also looking through a couple hosted solutions that seem pretty good but when you really think about it - Why not set your own server (if you have one) up exactly like the hosted solutions have theirs.
I’m by no means a SPAM expert but really starting to do some research on what really is going on. If any of you have any tips, ideas or thoughts on this please let me know. I’d love to have some help in this area.

Coward Thoughts Says:
How good are these things? I’m concerned with the usability of these programs. How can relevant business material be separated from the junk? If the user has to enter in the address to let it through, or enter the address to keep it out, I don’t think the program is worth anything more than the crap it is supposed to filter.
