I said PASS
After quite a bit of brainstorming, business projections, and conversations with business owning peers - I called up Campbell-Ewald today and told them I was gonna have to pass on their offer.
It’s still tough realizing that I said no to such a large agency that has quite a bit to offer. However it’s like I told them after offering a 90-day trial plan.
I spent about an hour an-a-half at your company a couple weeks ago and I don’t know what happens behind closed doors and the daily opperations. For me to make such a decision as to just drop all ties in Holland and go work for a company I don’t know much about isn’t the best scenario. Not without a trial period.
I also explained my passion for starting up my own business and as much as I would like to work for a company with a steady paycheck - it’s also about freedom to make your own choices and seeing if the ideas I have are really what I think they are.
The bad part about all this is that I completely open myself up to failure. I can’t hide behind anyone else’s mistakes and if Elevator Up fails - it’s my own fault. That said, I’m still going forward and will test my ideas. If I fail, I’ll know that I tried and gave it my all.
So right now I’m putting all my skills and passion into my company in order to make it happen.
The goal of the company is to help businesses understand the web and what it currently offers them. ROI is a huge issue and for many, the issue of the web is simply a necessary evil and isn’t explored to its full potential.
