Well, it’s official - after two and a half years of working at the Holland Sentinel I’m finally on my own with hopes and energy of making it on my own.
I won’t bore you with all the crazy details but last Wednesday was my last day. Thursday and Friday were spent making hundreds of phone calls and setting up meetings with various businesses all across West Michigan.
These past two days have been amazing and the relief of not having to go into an office filled with folks that care more about money than their customers is finally over. I’ve already had great conversations with new clients and people excited to sit down with me and rethink their bland sites.
I’m planning on some struggles to come about but right now I have to much to do and to many people to meet. More than likely I’ll start to freak out when all the work comes in. I guess then I could always hire someone but I mine as well work like a dog to make some money.
So, again - I’m on my own and pushing my new company Elevator Up. If you know of someone that needs a website - you know who to contact.

Typo Dude!
All the luck to you!
Schaap,
You have my support, and you have my comment; but you cant have my money, because I do not owe you money (even though you probably think I do.)
And I don’t think I actually know how to use a semi-colon properly.
Aaron ~ you have our FULL support also ~ and our love & prayers…
But ROB ~ as a high school English teacher ~ I just had to respond to your semicolon dilemma, since I just taught this to my students a couple of weeks ago ~ from my notes :
“When there were ONLY the period & the comma, there were only TWO rules: if you want a LONG pause between two thoughts, put in a PERIOD; if you want a SHORT pause, put in a comma. The semicolon was INVENTED to create a LONGER pause than a comma and a SHORTER pause than a period.
The most common use for the semicolon today is to JOIN two sentences. The semicolon enables the sentence to MOVE a little more quickly (since we’re always in a HURRY!) than if the PERIOD separated the two sentences.
What is popular now though is ~ the DASH. Parentheses are no longer EYE friendly, making the eye pause ~ which slows us down…”
Hope that helps & makes sense!
Any other GRAMMAR questions out there?
Heehee ~not meant to bore ~ but oblige…
Best of luck with your new endeavors Aaron! Your work, and skills are top-notch, and I wish you great success in all that you do. I will miss working with you, but will stop by your little corner on the web here now and then to read up on how things are going, and to say ‘hi’ :-)
Take Care…
Hey I just wanted to say that I’ve looked at all of your work and it looks great. I’ll try to remember you in my prayers, that God will take care of you and your new company. Blessings.
whoa! aaron, i had no idea you were doin’ this… great idea. “hey is your elevator running?” yeah “you’d better go catch it!” that could be your motto.
