I know I don’t update this site very much anymore but when life keeps you busy, it’s hard to do the things you really love.
It would be nice to have time like my buddy Rob Walcott which spends most of his days taking pictures of wonderful people and sitting in front of his computer updating his weblog. The guy doesn’t have to worry about a boss looking over his shoulder or having to explain to newsroom journalist why there are popup windows on our site.
It would also be nice to be like my other buddy, Ethan VanDrunen, that decided to leave the United States for a teaching job in India. Just thinking about all of his experiences, intriguing people, and beautiful landscape is almost an experience in an of itself. He doesn’t have to sit in a Dilbert hole, or stare at a windowless wall hoping to soon experience something more than the excitement of watching the browning of a light colored wallpaper.
So I hope to soon be the kind of person that is able to bring to life a group of text and release the stories that are so nicely organized in my head for later telling. It’s coming but when I don’t know….the suspense is, as many say, killing me.

Every once in awhile while you come across a site that just makes you happy the web exists. House Gymnastics is a website that was started by Spencer Harrison & James Ford while attempting to put up a bedroom blind.
“House Gymnastics originated from the endeavours of Harrison and Ford in a joint and convoluted attempt to put up a bedroom blind. A crossbreed of yoga, climbing, break dancing and gymnastics, it can be performed by anyone, at anytime, anywhere.
The moves will take you from your armchair to the hallway, the fridge, a window ledge and back again without spilling your housemate’s tea. Once the key principles have been mastered they can be applied to outdoor situations and structures, such as a lamppost, telephone box or even an 8 ft poly-resin goose.”
On a side note, my buddies and I have been doing things like this for years but definately not this advanced. I’m guessing this summer,
when everyone is back from college, we’ll have to toughen up and make every house a House of Gymnastics.

Last night was a rock out concert in Grand Rapids when the grey line announced their new CD in an official CD Release Party.
The people at Club Revolution hosted the event at their facilities right off of Summer street and were nice enough to even take our coats at the door.
the grey line’s new CD is entitled - “the others look like me” with some amazing music and great cover art by my buddy Dan Cooper. If I can also slide into this post, Dan Cooper is getting married sometime this summer to a wonderful lady we all adore.
Back to the CD. The music last night was great with a mix of people from the old, LikeMinded band members and followed with the new group now called “the grey line”.
I suggest you take a peek at their new CD but more importantly - if you look close enough in the credits you’ll see a familiar name. Yup, yours truly was mentioned and was given a thanks from the band.
I’m guessing it was for all my work on their website but you never know, it could just be because I’m an awesome guy ….grin

The song must’ve been playing on the radio before I got out of the car but while I was walking up to the B&N doors I was rather loudly, whistling the tune of “ONE” (must have iTunes to view) by Three Dog Night.
Now, whistling while you walk isn’t considered weird but today of all days - it was Valentine’s Day. In fact, I was quickly reminded of this when a mother and daughter began to snicker as I passed them.
It took me a second to figure out why they thought what I was doing was funny - then it hit me. Why was I whistling this song? They must think I have no-one for this day of love.
I decided it wasn’t that big of a deal and laughed silently while allowing my smile to crack just a little before walking into the store.

A couple days ago I talked about my frustration with writing a sellable block of text about myself and few days before that, I peeked your interested by saying something new was coming.
Now, after much torture and head-to-keyboard nights, I’ve finally put together a website that shows off almost all of the work I’ve done over these past years.
While working on the site I made a huge effort in keeping it clean. To me - this included, simple navigation, light relaxing colors, and just the basic of information. I didn’t feel the importance of going on and on about myself to end up just boring a potential client.
On thing that I don’t have on the site quite yet is all the feedback/comments I’ve received from various clients over the years. They’ve all been so great to work with and with their permission, I’ll be placing their nice words on my site very soon.

Another way that I felt it neccessary to keeping the site clean was simple code.
XHTML and
CSS are the web’s closest friends and they were quite involved in the development of this site - along with a small amount of
PHP to help out in various areas.
As you’ve probably noticed above - my site was highlighted as a well developed CSS site at cssvault.com.
How does the cssvault pick the sites?
Well first they have to be done in CSS. Tables can only be used for tabular data. Second they just have to look good to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I do not expect every site that is posted to be liked by everyone or even anyone. Also do not expect a site to be posted just because you sent it in.
Needless to say I am very proud to have been noticed and highlighted as someone using
CSS and using it well.
So with all that - Get odda here and go visit the site. Then tell all your friends, family, co-workers, and email buddies that I can develop a website for them.
