CSS and Weather ???

In case you haven’t already stumbled across the Lawrence weather site - it’s sweet.

Not only is it a great design but it’s done with “standard compliant” XHTML and CSS. A great example of what can be easily accomplished with little hassle.

Besides the smart move of using standards it also moves away from the traditional newspaper mindset of “Let’s just get the info up online!” to “Let’s get people excited about this information!”. A model many newspapers should strive for but sadly don’t.

Adrian explains more on his site:

Quote: “Putting aside all the content-vs.-presentation holy wars, I will say that, as the design matured, I found myself editing only the style sheet when we wanted to make a design tweak. Plain and simple, CSS made design changes easy.”
