MCPCR goes live
A huge sigh of relief was released today as I finally finish a 2 month web project. Today I released a communication site for Morris owned properties. The main title is - Morris Community Property Communication Repository - better known as MCPCR.
What’s the main purpose?
A place where the Morris community properties can view and submit new media ideas in efforts to add collaborative value to projects and increase communication.
What’s does it have?
The site holds quite a bit of stuff such as - (1) a “Code Center” that houses a variety of scripts and small programs that will help various newspapers in site development. (2) A “New Products” area holds new product ideas, Business Models, and downloadable support material to help New Media Directors make more money. (3) Product discussion area that offers conversations ranging from marketing ideas all the way to developing a custom CMS. (4) Contact information and bios of New Media Directors from over 22 different newspapers across the country.
Along with everything above, the site works on any Internet device - from Palm Pilots, PDAs, Cell Phones, Desktop browsers, Web TV, and yes - even your printer.
I wish I could show it to ya because it’s probably one of my best site I’ve created. However you’ll need a username and password just to get in.
Some comments I got on the site after going live.
Impressive job, Schaapy! And thanks for leading the charge on standards-compliant web development at Morris, something which is not the easiest thing for many developers (including myself) to transition into, especially with all the legacy code MDW has hanging around.- Kevyn Jacobs of Juneauempire.com
I just wanted to say thanks for putting this site together. I think it will be a great tool for the future. I was just saying the other day that we needed a site just like this to share ideas and technology. Great job!- Jeremy Miller of AugustaChronicle.com
