My new Apple iMAC

My new Apple iMAC

I’ve been working on MACs for over a year now and have loved them pretty equally with my PCs. Yesterday I got anew iMAC in exchange for doing some consulting and web development.

I’ve always used OS 9 and figured my way around to figured out those little inner secrets and hat tricks. Now I’m running OS 10.2.3, better known as Jaquar. Jaquar is simply amazing. The amount of things you can do are still to be found and there’s very little I can say against it.

After booting everything up I immediately started installing/tweaking things. I downloaded Apple’s new browser - Safari (which I’m curreently using to update this site), iCal, NetNewsWire Lite, and a variety of other things.

By far the best parts of Jaquar are:

As of right now, most of my stuff is on the gatway computer but I’ll soon be converting it all over. Not to just another computer but one that’s much smaller, way cooler, softer keyboard keys, better smaller speaker, and all around good guy.

So far the only thing that I don’t like about it is the lack of integration with Yahoo’s Calendar. I have my Outlook on my PC to connect to Yahoo and pull sync all my calendar information. This is very helpful for getting to information anywhere. Also great for those forgetful people that have girlfriends making most of their plans.

So if you have a MAC - let me know. What are you running and what should I be? Give me some tips on how to deal with all that I’ve been given. I already have planned to purchase a MAC book that will offer me many answers to my all so curious questions.

FYI: I know you like iChat but I haven’t been able to get thrilled about it. I use Adium and I suggest that you at least give it a try (no, I’m not affiliated with Adium in any way).

Adium has tabbed message windows which is GREAT. It aslo has a couple of other cool features.
