My First House
Within just a couple days a person’s life can dramatically change. New things can happen and sence of lifes realness can become quickly evident.Today I put my second offer on a house. I’ve been searching through various homes in the Holland / Zeeland area and the other day I found one that just seemed to work perfectly for me. I talked to a cute realtor and she graciously helped me with paper work and various finacial options. Later that day I had put my first offer on my first house.
A couple days after that we got word from the sellers with a decision. They were counter offering but were going to put a new roof on for me. My second offer just tells them to take the price of the roof work off the top of the purchase price and I’ll simply redo the roof myself.
Right now I’m waiting for them to receive the new offer and tell me that I can move in later next month. Let’s just hope that’s how it works.
Why am I buying a house?
I don’t want to work my whole life and would like to find some ways in which I can make money without having to work for it. I heard some people say; “Making your money work for YOU”.My plan is to purchase it, fix it up a bit by adding a new roof, an additional rec room, widening the driveway, adding another 2 stall garage and building a deck that will make my neighbors & friends jeoulous. Then sell it after 3 years.
I’m hoping to buy a couple more places within that 3 year frame. Mostly rental properties and the such.
At 3:30 today I have a meeting with guy named Wayne De Bryun at Fifth Third Bank to discuss a mortgage. After talking with him I’ll know for sure how much I’ll be paying each month. My mortgage should end up being about the same as the average renter.
It’s exciting and scary at the same time. I’m jumping into another world that I’ve only heard about from others. So wish me luck and hope for the best. I’ll let you all know when I do.
