22nd Birthday
On this day, 22 years ago, a boy was born in Crown Point, Indiana. He obviously never new how long he would live and never imagined he would ever be sharing himself to the world through a little screen not much bigger than a foot.
Now, 22 years from that winter day he sits typing as if he’s done this before. The only difference is that today he’s one year further from that cold day in december.
Life has treated him well. Obviously with some hardships but none that couldn’t be overcome. 22 years is a long time and alot of things can happen to a boy in that amount of time.
He’s lived in various states, went to many years of schooling, played basketball, skated (secretly wanting to go pro), shot many a clay pigeons, got a wonder woman, and met friends that will last more than a lifetime.
So today’s my birthday. Not planning on doing all that much other than relaxing and trying to deal with the fact that I’m almost 30.

22 years ago was a beautiful day ~ just like today. I remember driving to the college to get dad to tell him ‘it was time’ and his firends dropped their brief cases in the road and ran in to get him. It was hilarious. A few hours later we held you in our arms, and daddy soon started to call you ‘bright eyes’ because those blue eyes absorbed everything in the room. It seemed you were in a hurry to start living…at 5 1/2 months you stood up in your crib by yourself, and by 7 1/2 months you walked unattended across the living room floor. You didn’t think it was necessary to take time to crawl. I hardly remember you without a smile…and your favorite baby words were ‘deedle deedle deedle’ over and over (and OVER) again. You just loved the sound of those words! I had you when I was 22 ~ my golden year ~ so I am extending to you my wonderful blessings of that year ~ and may YOUR 22nd year be as full of life as mine was! I love you Aaron, from the moment we knew you were coming, til forever and always…and each blessed moment inbetween.
Howard Says:
Happy birthday Aaron!
Don’t blink or you’ll be pushing 50.
Getting older is not a bad thing. You couldn’t pay me to be 22 again. Enjoy it while you’re there and live the moment.
