Giving Colleges my full Income
It’s finally Friday and my terrible Thursday has finally passed me by. It’s not so much that the whole day was bad - just a couple of things in the day that happened.Sentinel’s Reimbursement Program
For a while I was really excited about The Holland Sentinel’s reimbursement program. I was told that 50%-75% of my tuition cost would be paid for. However today I was told that they would pay 50% of my college bill but only up to $1000.00 per calendar year.
That’s frigg’in snack food money! The frigg’in jerks. I mean, I should be happy because it’s better than nothing but screw that. A $1000.00 is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars having to come out of my hard earned pocket.
It’s just their way of feeling good about themselves and fooling everyone else.
Yea - I bet ya do. So that you can keep them at there current crappy job but use them so much more.
Is that why there’s such a employee turn around rate at the Sentinel?
Actually paying for college
Thinking that I was going to get a hell of alot more money for college classes I didn’t think of taking out any loans. I was already to late to sign up for Financial Aid this semester so that isn’t an option until following semester. Pick up your applications in January…
I had taken some classes before and owned a pretty penny on those classes before I could even think about registering for more. I paid the financial office more than I get in a month but had to come back later to tell them that the Sentinel wasn’t going to be paying as much as I thought.
So I had to work out some deals with them.
I won a competition a while back and got $1000.00 scholarship amongst some other things.
Hopefully I’ll be able to use that toward my down payment. Otherwise I’m screwed and will have to write a check out for everything that’s in my savings account. And I worked so long and hard to get money into there.
The whole college money bullshit just pisses me off. Itís not about teaching students and improving life, itís about the bottom line. Plus I still have to buy all these books. Which brings me to another point -
