Doornbos got hit by a car
For those of you that haven’t heard yet my friend Ben Doornbos was hit by a car last night.Ben was riding his bike the other day and a car pulled in front of him. He slammed on his brakes but he slammed them so hard that he went flying over his handle bars and hit the car head first.
He scrapped up his head quite bit and had to get that all stitched up. His X-rays showed that he had broken his spine but later on they found that it was not broken and was only compressed (I think that’s the word).
He was at the Hospital and spent the night but was released the next day.
Ben is at home (in the UP) right now relaxing but can’t walk around or do anything for more than 30 minutes a day.
His family left at 8am this morning (Wednesday) to go see him and will probably be with him for the weekend. Oddly enough his parents had planned on going up to see him for awhile on this date so it was nice that they already had work off and everything.
Make sure to pray for Ben. So far there should be a full recovery but when dealing with the spine it’s always hard to say - especially a couple years from now.
