a sunny day - i’m in the basement
_14:47
On such a sunny day, like today, I should be playing outside or laying in a hammock, sipping ice tea and reading a book. Interestingly enough I wasn’t born into an ungodly rich family and I’m forced to work my days away.
The profession I chose wasn’t one I picked out of a hat but one I for some reason felt called to do. The great part of my job is the flexibility. The bad part of my job is that most of the time I’m inside or in a basement hacking away designs and/or code for a client.
I noticed today was sunny when I stood up and stretched my aching back. At the tip of my stretch I saw some sunlight peeking through the 1-foot x 3-foot window held in a cement wall. It held my attention and inspired me to wonder upstairs and see if such true light really existed.
Up the stairs and out the front door - my eyes could barely stand the brightness. I shielded my face as if I’ve seen God himself but still trying to peek out of curiosity.
The sunlight was great and I wondered over to the grass to see if it still felt the same as it did last year at this time. With a small grin - anyone around me could have easily seen it was.
I’m now back in my basement and listening to a band named “AIR”, while sifting through Photoshop for that perfect color to depict what I see in my head. My client will hopefully be excited to see his new design. It was inspired by sunlight and will now hopefully shine on him and his clients.
Have you ever been inspired by sunlight?
