You know what I did today? I drove around after work with my windows rolled down. Did you hear that? My windows weren’t up and my heaters were no longer connected to the vents of hell.
Not only did I get to do this in a car (a mini-van if you will) but I got to do this in my car, listening to my radio, as loud as I wanted it to be. It’s been some time since I’ve been able to say those things - In fact it’s been alittle over a year an a half. Shoot Dang, that’s alot longer than I thought.
Can you remember your first car what how you felt driving it?

Gosh…it was great! My 1984 buick LeSabre. Power everything, and the seats were like couches. It was so awesome! The radio was extremely good, and everyone heard that radio when i drove into town. That car was HUGE! But I loved it.
My first Car!
My 2 door ,white 1994 Tercel, she whispered many things to me and I too her!
Every tear you cry,
Every doubt you have,
All of these things will pass away as the miles go by.
All of your big mistakes,
My little old heart break will fade in the rearview mirror!
Drive by just star light!
Can you make me become a new version of me?
A new version of me?
I need a new version of me.
Get in and drive all night by just star light.
A new way home because I won’t let myself remember.
Drive all night by just star light!
Windows down,Volume up on the evitable fading pop song playing in the back ground!
Take me to adulthood!
Take me to a new version of me!
Just drive all night by just star light that’s where I will be waiting…..The new version of me……
1962 VW BUG with a moon roof … and I cried on my 16th birthday. I didn’t like it (I loved the car, but not the responsibility of driving - all of a sudden I had to get myself to places on time … I had to make sure I had gas, I was the one who was running late …. I no longer had my mom or dad taking me places, taking care of all the details.)
After a few more days and even weeks I learned to love my oversized stearing wheel and being behind it.
3 cars later I now have a 1998 Honda Civic, my baby - and I absolutely love driving.
p.s. The one thing I really looked forward to when turning 16 however, was the fact that I finally got to put my seat belt on with my LEFT hand (instead of the normal passenger RIGHT hand)
Alot of small weird things like this are milestones in my life … just ask aaron and if you don’t believe him ask my mom …
