to much computer

Tuesday_18:51

I don’t know what real people look like anymore. I’m on the computer for such long periods of time that I commanly find myself amazed that there are actually 3 deminsional people out there.

Computers are great though - making a living off what you can do on them is even greater. However - When you go outside there are tiny draw backs:

  • you simply forgot humans really exsist
  • your scared of people that speak to you and no window popped up to warn you
  • complete fear when someone uses a word and you can’t get to dictionary.com
  • You can’t use the away message
  • when you do use an away message you’re a freak
  • tapping your fingers on the table isn’t how you respond to a person
  • they can see you picking your butt
There are many other drawbacks but the main point is - No matter how long you are on the computer, It’s important to step outside to see how far humanity has really come.

When you realize humanity has probably become worse - go back into your house for another couple of hours and proceed to hack away at whatever you were doing in the first place.

Do you have a problem with being on the computer to much?

Europe picts are up - roll 1

Sunday01:19

Europe Pictures

After who knows how many months, I’ve finally started uploading my Europe pictures. Right now I only had time to upload Roll 1 out of 4 rolls, but now that I have this nice little system set up it will be pretty easy.

So take a look at them and let me know what you think. Leave comments by the pictures.

my bag came home

Sunday_00:04

I finally got it - After a full week without my backpack, I now have my books, clothes, personals, and cell phone. It was hard at first being all my personals were in my bag but I went out and bought things to replace those for the time it was gone.

The hardest was not having my cell phone and books. I honestly love reading books but have a serious problem with reading only one at a time. When my books were gone I only had 2 to read and I couldn’t handle it. I needed more options than to stinkí in books.

And my cell phone - wow! The deal with that is not that I’m that guy who can’t talk without a cell phone up to his ear or calls people in the store lanes. I need my cell phone because since I moved I haven’t put to practice remembrance of my home phone. Most of my clients only know my cell number as well.

The week was hard at first without my things but toward the end I started to manage. Thanks to Jason and Jess for driving my stuff up from Chicago though. I sadly now owe them one though.

Have you ever lost something that made everything off balance?

A tulip is in my yard

Wednesday_23:43 - Crazy Tulips !!!

A tulip in my yard

Goods received by a merchant for one (1) Viceroy tulip:

  • Eight fat swine
  • Twelve fat sheep
  • 63 gallons of wine
  • 60 kegs of beer
  • 30 kegs of butter
  • 1000 lbs. of cheese
  • A silver drinking-cup

In the late 1500s, tulips were introduced to Holland. The flower was considered so rare that wealthy aristocrats and merchants tripped over themselves to buy them. Speculation ensued and the flower became wildly overvalued.

In 1637 the tulip trade crashed. People who thought of themselves as extremely rich were reduced to poverty overnight.

a sunny day - i’m in the basement

Tuesday_14:47

On such a sunny day, like today, I should be playing outside or laying in a hammock, sipping ice tea and reading a book. Interestingly enough I wasn’t born into an ungodly rich family and I’m forced to work my days away.

The profession I chose wasn’t one I picked out of a hat but one I for some reason felt called to do. The great part of my job is the flexibility. The bad part of my job is that most of the time I’m inside or in a basement hacking away designs and/or code for a client.

I noticed today was sunny when I stood up and stretched my aching back. At the tip of my stretch I saw some sunlight peeking through the 1-foot x 3-foot window held in a cement wall. It held my attention and inspired me to wonder upstairs and see if such true light really existed.

Up the stairs and out the front door - my eyes could barely stand the brightness. I shielded my face as if I’ve seen God himself but still trying to peek out of curiosity.

The sunlight was great and I wondered over to the grass to see if it still felt the same as it did last year at this time. With a small grin - anyone around me could have easily seen it was.

I’m now back in my basement and listening to a band named “AIR”, while sifting through Photoshop for that perfect color to depict what I see in my head. My client will hopefully be excited to see his new design. It was inspired by sunlight and will now hopefully shine on him and his clients.

Have you ever been inspired by sunlight?
