For those of you who haven’t already heard I just won the Netbuilder contest. I entered it alittle while back with a couple designs and just the other day they picked perspectivesholland.com as the winning website.
I never win anything and when they called me I wasn’t quite sure if they were being honest or just calling me for some other reason.
I finally took them serious when a Wood TV 8 van drove in my driveway, handed me a brand new laptop, and a $1000.00 scholorship to Davenport College. It’s nice to win. Plus - i’ll be on TV starting Tuesday for about 2 weeks and the Holland Sentinel is talking about doing a story on the whole deal.
Really the Holland Sentinel deal is a publicity stunt for myself being how I work at the Sentinel but why not?
What i’m wondering though is - Have any of you won something before?

First of all, Congratulations!!!!! I know the feeling. I remember when I won the State Youth of the Year title. As well as advancing to Regionals I received a $25,000 scholarship from Oprah and a laptop from Gateway computers. I also remember when I won Regionals and I realized that I was going to Nationals and that I was going to meet the president. Anyway, congrats again, enjoy it. I can’t wait to see the article.
Congrats, Schaaptastic. It’s good to hear that good people actually win things, instead of always like, on those Publisher’s Clearinghouse commercials, they’re always giving the checks to people who have like fifteen Cuban cigars in their mouths lighting them with stacks of thousand-dollar bills. This renews my faith in humanity, a little.
The only thing I ever have won was… well… uh… I haven’t won anything. Ever. That sucks, huh? Sorry to rain on the parade. Hey - check out my website! You’re hosting it!
I remember when I won a “stay away from my daughter you dirty fucking agnostic” from my ex-girlfriend’s parents. good times.
Congratualtions! Winning is the best, and $$ for college, that’s a great prize. me, i’ve never won anything, but i’m glad you did! i’ll be looking in the paper for the article
Schaap !! you won. That’s cool. I remember that day you won a date with that beautifiul *snicker* women friend of yours that you met on the internet.
How does the story go? You were rendered so mindless by her goddess like beauty that you had to make out with her in the burger king parking lot?
You Pimp!! You should post her picture for all of us to see…
Haha - I hate you so much Dan. Let us never speak of her again.
p.s. Maybe one day i’ll post a picture and tell the story. It’s a much better story told in person though.
I agree with Dan, lets get this story out in the open … do tell, I say - do tell …
