The quest to become is one of our strongest desires.
All through my childhood I wanted to become someone. I first wanted to become a policeman, then a fireman, after those it was a stunt-double and so on. The reality of it all is that I never stopped wanting to become.
At this point in my life I’m trying to find out who I really want to be. I can answer that right now and say a web developer or a web consultant. Now that I know that (or think I do), what possible path do I take to achieve this person?
I travel around the web with my 768k DSL connection in search for these answers. In the process I come across many persons I now admire. They are called - “Professionals” in their field. The same field I’m in. How is it they are so good and what have they done to become so famous.
The web is no doubtingly a great media source and they have used it to help them. But was it just an idea they had? Was it many idea’s that made them who they are today?
I wonder this because I want to become what they are. I’m almost jealous of what they have accomplished and where they stand in this imaginary line of respect.
Was it just an idea that got them where they are today? Or was it many? But another part of me wonders, was it an idea at all. So now Iím back to were I began and I haven’t moved forward.
I want to learn from them but they are so far away and so busy. I read their work along with the many others that are like them. The problem is that I can’t fathom what they did so right.
Could it be that they have been with the Internet from the beginning (or close enough) that people just know them because they have been around so long?
Could it be they are in a better area then I? An area that pulls professionals out of the woodworks and teaches them to become these great men?
Maybe not - However, I would like to know how they became.

This post was written in a time of confusion. I’m still trying to figure out how to be the best or how I can change the world for the better, but I still wonder what path I am supposed to take - as Iím sure we all do.
We see so many who have made it and we wonder what they did so right that got them were they are now.
I do feel one has to have an IDEA / a PLAN but how did they come up with these plans and how did they implement them?
These are questions I wonder daily. Looking for an idea —- My originality. I’m sure it will come some day. I just want to be prepared for when it does.
ok too much too fast … I hope you don’t think we’re all following you on this one. Although - from what my eyes had the patience to read, I agree, I think. We’re all sort of wondering around as we wonder what we’re going to be and how to get there.
yea - sorry. It was something I just had to write. I guess you all would need a bit more insight into how this all came about.
I’ll work on clearing up my message in my next post. Whatever that may be.

ìWhatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end, requires some of the same courage which a soldier needs.î
