sorry for being down

Tuesday_23:49

Geez - I’m sorry, I’ve been filling my post with complete depression and anger. I’m not near as pathetic as I might put and I really need to stop writing like that.

Some of you have sent me emails telling me to shape up (but nicely - thanks) so I’m going to try really hard to be in a better mood and not hose down my weblog with crap. I mean - you don’t really want to read about how crappy someone thinks their life is do ya?

Even if they’re completely right - it’s not something that uplifts you as a reader. So, I’m going to try and perk up and make the best of my time off. I’m going to make a list of things I need to do and actually get them all done in a timely fashion and I’m going to try my hardest to put together new projects.

I would love to hear what you would like to see from me. What do you like reading? Over the years I’ve had a variety of ways I would write my thoughts.

Give me some feedback - let me know what you all like to hear and read about. This will help me focus on more things than just web development - unless web development is what you like to hear about - yea I didn’t think it was.

So this is my post, letting you all know Iím going to try to be an upbeat person. I might not always achieve it but I’ll at least get to say I tried :-)

I always used to read your site because of the way you told your stories … you’re really good at capturing an audience.

IMHO, Aaron, I think that if you want to write depressing, angst filled entries, then you should. And not just because it’s your weblog and you may do with it as you please — but because if you’re depressed and angry, and you write about it, you’re being nothing more than honest.

And if I’ve learned anything these past few years… It’s that honesty is something that can really (positively) affect people’s lives.

Just a thought. =)

Hey Aaron, I guess I agree with Jodi, although the honesty Trin talks about is tops, although with retsraint, so as to not overwhelm your readers. But the sincere honesty that comes through in your stories, your life tidbits, whether you’re walking down 8th street, or examining an ant or a snowflake, these stories are what really make my day, the way you describe them and stretch my mind into a chuckle. Throw in a good discussion (milk), some info droplets (Aids), some frustrations (work & relationships ~ we all have ‘em), and of course more stories, and the balance you create brings people back again and again. Hey, I don’t even mind hearing about web stuff. Jodi’ right, your stories are great. Trin, he’s got the honesty thing down ~ hey Abe Lincoln was the only doll I ever gave him.

Aaron - I really appreciate your honesty. You say whats on your mind and I think thats cool.

I really think that the pictures are a good thing as well.

One suggestion- I think that you should complete the community aspect of your site by handing out free webspace on your host for paragonites like myself to post our own weblogs.

just a thought :)

Aaron Schaap Says:

Haha - you would Joel. Actually - in my new site design I’m planning on making a section for people to do just that. Users will be able to request a page for updates (like mine), but it will only be one page.

I will also have a general one that will allow anyone to update it. That one should prove to be interesting but I need to put together some rules and regulation before i set those features up.

I also need to actually figure out how to put it all together in a nice fashion too :-) Soon enough though.
