Servers and Life
_14:48
Life has been moving at a rather incredible pace and not slowing down for the ones who just like to sit and play on their computers all day.
Last night I went to bed at a record early - 21:00 (9:00 EST). I just couldnít do a thing. It even got to the point of my body actually hurting and dragging me to the floor. Emily (my roommate) said I shouldn’t go to bed so early because I would wake up later in the night - wide awake - but I stuck to my guns and fell asleep.
I slept straight through until 8:00 the next morning. It was definitely a great feeling but I need to try hard to get in on time tonight as well.
So what keeps you up all the time?
I’ve been doing some freelance work with my good friend, Joel Cooper and it’s been keeping me busy. The hardest things are deadlines and servers. A worm called Nimda has been infecting various parts of the Internet along with alot of servers. One of my clients is using hostway.com and they (the host) are having some troubles with the worm knocking on all their ports to see if any are open. Luckily nothing has been infected yet - it mostly slows down their server(s) operations.
My personal favorite hosting company - he.net - has been doing great and also provide me with more than I’ll ever need :-)
So basically I’ve been having to deal with directing domain names to the right servers along with un-hosting clients and re-hosting them with he.net because of necessary technology.
On a bright side:
Jodi is coming home from Cancun tonight at 17:30 (5:30 EST). It will be nice to see her face again :-)
