Suddenly everything clicks

The above picture, provided by the good people over at adbusters.org, said what we’re all thinking. Microsoft’s lovely words of - “Suddenly Everything Clicks” was simply destoyed with a copy and paste of the letters “S” and “U”, which made it go “Suddenly everything Sucks”.

I find myself agreeing that Microsoft sucks when the talk of webstandards come about. Microsoft browsers don’t quite understand what standards are and sure as hell don’t know what the W3C is. Don’t get my wrong - Netscape is just as much to blame but their work on version 6 was the best effort yet.

I’ve also been having alot of problems with my windows machines. IE seems to only work when it wants to, even though I’ve kept everything up to date. I finally loaded Redhat Linux 7.0 onto a laptop of mine to start learning my way around.

It’s not as hard as I thought but I still have a ways before I can start doing everything with ease. Once I become familiar with RedHat - I’ll be able to complain about Microsoft with a clear conscience.

In the mean time I’ll keep playing around with Win2000 and maybe toss XP onto a machine again just to see all the eye candy everyone is talking about.

Have you had any problems with your computer lately?

As much as I apreciate a good Microsoft joke, I’ll have to say that I love Windows 2000 Proffesional. After using this OS, I feel as if I need to stick up for this great product.

As far as the browser goes, OPERA 6.0 is really the only option. After using this browser, I may never return. I looked at the spec sheet and noticed full W3C compliance. As well as support for CSS 1 and 2. Opera also has a completely customizable, unique interface with tons of options. PLEASE do web authors a favor. DOWNLOAD OPERA 6.

Alright - maybe I was alittle hard on Win2000. I had a rough day and I’m sorry I took it out on my OS. I’ll try not to let it happen again. However I would like to figure out why my IE isn’t working when I WANT IT TOO?

As far as the browser option - I agree with Joel in that everyone should download OPERA 6. I’ve been using that for awhile and love it’s options. I’ve also been using Netscape 4.7 lately. I know it’s horrible for standards but haven’t have the time to upgrade to 6. I’ll leave 4.7 around for testing purposes but 6 for browsing.

I played around with RedHat last night and learned some rather cool things. Ok - not really….I spent most of the night customizing it and trying to figure out where things are.
