Talking Travels

Saturday_24:42

Have you ever mentioned something in a conversation and not more than a day later - everyone is talking about it? Oddly enough this happens alot in our society. And even to people close to us.

Is it a bad thing, or good? To be honest with ya - it really depends on what it is. In my case it wasn’t a bad thing. To think of it - it’s not really a good thing either - just more of a whatever thing. And by now you’re about to beat me over the head to try and get out of me what happened aren’t ya?

OK..Ok… here’s the story. The other day Jodi and I were talking about life and what we wanted to do. I started talking about how nice San Francisco was looking and how there are so many things going on over there. Everything that seems to get me excited (for the most part) is getting started over there and only making it over to Holland via - Internet.

I was talking about the possibility of moving over there some day just to see how people’s gears worked. This topic doesn’t make Jodi all to excited but she’s great about discussing it with me. Along with the topic she asked me how long I was planning on living with Emily and Tim (my current roommates).

“I honestly don’t know. It would be nice to move around alittle bit and live with different people - experience different houses, but to be honest I don’t really know.” was my first response. I then went on and told her about a conversation with my friend Joel Boyles who’s brother just bought a house.

His brother (Dan) is an interior decorator and his current living space is always done so nicely. To cut right to the point - I mentioned how it would be cool to move in with Joel and Dan Boyles. Just for something new.

The next day Jodi got a call from our pastor seeing if she would be available in 15 mins to baby-sit. Jodi loves kids and jumped (maybe literally but I didn’t see her) at the opportunity. She went right over and got to talking with Brian (our pastor) about things. One of the things that came up was how I was thinking about moving in with the Boyles.

Later that night Joel Boyles pops up on my screen via-Instant Messenger and asks if I was going to move in with them.

Imagine my surprise when he asked me! When not only last night I mentioned it to Jodi. I hadn’t even put the concept into thought yet and didn’t really have any strong thoughts on moving so soon.

After talking with Joel he said that he bumped into Brian Aulick (the pastor I told you about earlier) who said he heard Aaron was going to move in.

To spare you the rest I just found it rather amusing how fast things travel. By no means am I mad with this - just in awe of how quickly people pass on information.

So what should I do? Should I stay here with Emily and Tim or should I move out? — I think I’ll give it some thought once I’m done with my college semester. However I would like some input!!!

Joel Boyles Says:

Wow! now that you explained it, it makes WAY more sense. So let me tell you what I was thinking……

Last night, I saw Dan for the first time in a couple of days. We were talking and discussing what we were going to do for the new house. In that conversation, I told him that I would like to move into the basement and remodel it. We agreed that would be cool. Then, right before going to bed I said, “Ya know, Aaron mentioned something about moving out of his current place, wouldn’t it be cool if he moved in with us?”.

Dan said, “You should ask him sometime.”

At this, we both agreed, and went to bed.

Now tonight, I saw Brian and one of the first things that he said was, “Hey, I heard Aaron was thinking about moving in.”

At this I thought - Did Dan talk to Aaron, and then Aaron talked to Brian?

When I asked he said he talked to Jodi.

My mind was totally boggled.

Anyway, I just was amazed at how this all came about.

So I guess I should officially ask…..

hey aaron, me and Dan were talking and thought it would be cool if you would rent with us. Just a thought…….

Cool, well, its almost 2:00 am. So I am going to go to sleep. i would have IM-ed you but I thought that it was too late.

Thanks for the note Joel - yea it’s never to late to IM me (to which you found out after you posted this). I just need to finish my college semester and I’ll be able to think about all that then. I get done in a week so that’s good news.

We should go look at the place sometime soon - would that be cool?
