Basketball memories
I’m not sure if you guys ever knew this but I used to play basketball - alot actually. I got started when I was young because all my friends were playing basketball. Of course I got hooked on it and developed this taste for compatition.
That taste lasted for quite sometime until I got intruduced to a lovely sport called “Inline Skating”. After I found that basketball never had a chance at being anything to me. I started to not care about practice and every once in awhile I would even skip it to go skating with the boys.
I ended up quitting basketball the next year to start skating full time. I even put together a team with some friends and we called ourselves TSD (Team Saturday Delivery). I agree with you that the name doesn’t strick professionalism but it has a story to go along with it.
Sadly I don’t have the time to right now to explain that story but one day it will come out.
So why am I all of the suddon remembering all this? Well - at 4:30 ealier today I went to my sister Holly’s state match basketball game. As much as I don’t miss the game, a small part of me still does.
Working hard and getting all that energy out of your system. Oddly enough I always had extra for after the game as well. But the rush was the most exciting to remember.
My sister Holly played really good and they ended up getting 2nd place in the state of Michigan. I’m not sure on where they go from there or if there even is a next step, but I did make it to the game.
I admit I haven’t made to many of her games but from the look on her face. When she would take a second from playing to look over and see if I was still watching - I think she was glad that I made this one.
Jodi even got to make it and I got to see some old friends. My good old friend, classmate, and loyal reader Trinity was there as well as some other people that I had developed school friendships with.
All in all it was a nice get together and a good flood of memories.
Is there something that you used to do but haven’t taken time to remember how much fun it was?
