So here’s my problem

I work 30 hours a week, I’m taking classes at a local college, I have a girlfriend, and I want to learn how to do more with the Internet.

The girlfriend issue isn’t really an issue. I like this one and I’m pretty confident I’ll keep her around for awhile. What I’m trying to figure out is how I can learn more about development for the web and the Internet as a whole.

With working 30 hours a week and going to college - I don’t have much free time to just sit back and learn. I’ve found various sites that have help push out the information that I want to know (sitepoint.com,evolt.org,onlamp.com - to name a few), but all learning and no implementing makes Jack a dull boy.

It would be nice to take some more time off of college - work 40 hours a week - then with my nights and weekends open (instead of studying) I could do some pretty cool stuff.

PHP is slowly coming along but I just don’t have any time to learn it. I’m constitally having to put it on the back burner to do homework and study for classes.

So here’s where I need your opinion. What do you think I should do? Stay in college and put everything on hold for awhile - or screw it and focus completely on my own studies and worry about college later.

Interestingly enough - blogger.com

Interestingly enough - blogger.com set up an interesing way to update your site. By using a mix of PERL, XML, and SQL you can update your site with AIM.

When I first came across this I was amazed and had to try it right away. Seeing as I don’t have a blogger account I used the one I set up for Jodi a while back.

I read up on how everything worked and gave it ago. I added “Blogbot” to my buddy list to start out with. Typed a couple commands into AIM as if I was talking to a friend and bam - Instant AIM update.

Personally I think this option is the greatest thing since sliced bread and will be working on a way to set this up for my site (minus blogger). But before I go make sure to check out Jodi’s site to see what I said. You can also see what she’s been up to.

Word on the street is that she’s selling her Harley Davidson Chaps and her black, MDOT 2000 approved, helmet. Not really sure why she’s getting ride of all this stuff. Maybe it’s to get more money for our trip to Europe that we’ll both be going on in 15 days.
